As a potter, I work to create a balance between dynamic surface and inviting form. Each piece begins on the wheel and is then altered by hand to create engaging forms. Utilizing a variety of surfacing techniques and unique combinations of raw materials to expand the range of colors, I explore pattern, texture and color palettes to highlight the form. Stripes, dots, texture, and color are counterpoised to create structure, movement, and depth. I strive to produce well-crafted functional objects to encourage pause in everyday life and affirm the vernacular experience.
